Since When Did Journalism Die?

Forgive me for stepping off of the normal path in my articles, but something is irking me.

When did journalism die?  When did we stop caring about the facts of the world, and started looking for caricatures of news?

Take the news cycle for this weekend as an example.  Bay Area Rapid Transit blocked cell phone service in hopes that it would prevent protests of a police shooting that took place.  However, in a news cycle that had very little political news, the 24 hour news stations didn't cover much of anything involving the situation, or the new wave of protests that popped up from the block.

So instead of covering breaking news concerning the conflict between truth and  order (and I'm putting that as fair as possible to the two groups), the news covered non-news like the Iowa Straw Poll and whether this Republican Presidential Nominee can beat that Republican Presidential Nominee.  Sorry, Fox, CNN, and MSNBC, but nothing will change concerning the Presidential race for the next 6 months or so.  Please cover news.  I'm begging you.

  4. Ever since the internet went mainstream. Journalism has become nonexistant. Heck how many of us even read newspapers anymore? I dont, If its not important enough to end up in my RSS feed or at the top of Reddit. I dont care let alone have time for it.

I'm busy living my life and I think thats what their counting on. That's why we have so many more scandals these days. That or the avaliability of communication just shoves all of it in our face at once.
