Interesting Job Resume Tip

So I found out an interesting job resume tip today.  If you send your resume through, say, Monster, odds are that your resume will be scanned for "smart words," or keywords that the employer believes the perfect employee will put on his resume.  If you have your resume formatted in a nice way, the program will automatically consider you "worthless," and chuck your resume in the Recycle Bin.

However, if you type a bunch of keywords, make the text white, size 1, and put it at the bottom of the resume, the computer will notice the keywords and send your resume to the proper people.

These are the things that I hear about that discourage me while job hunting.  However, it's an interesting tidbit to know.

  9. My 2Cents: Before submitting the resume to a company website, just copy+paste the description from the job you're applying in your "About me" or "Experience" field, minor changes, but the keywords intact: Source: work on HR recruiting software :)

  11. What happens if the applications aren't checked by a mechanised system ? Nice tip although it may probably only apply in big companies.
